Hello, my name is Yvonne Dunham, I am a qualified Civil Celebrant. I cover North Suffolk and South Norfolk and further afield if requested.
I have lived in Suffolk my whole life; my family were farmers. At sixteen I left home to begin what has been a lifelong career in Nursing, firstly as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) and then for twenty-five years as a Practice Nurse at a Medical Centre.
I have three children and three grandchildren; along the way I have qualified as an Aromatherapist (IFA), gained a Certificate in Counselling Skills (UEA) and trained as a Bach Flower Remedy Practitioner. You may have heard of the Rescue Remedy.
I have a vast amount of life experience and have seen, I believe, more than my share of tragedy and trauma. I was diagnosed with a Hereditary Heart disease and over twenty-five years became very unwell with Chronic Heart failure. I was incredibly fortunate to receive a Heart Transplant in 2018 when seriously ill. I am forever grateful to my donor’s family that I still have my life and want to continue helping and supporting others within a caring environment, this has led me to train as a civil celebrant which is something I feel passionate about.
I believe I possess empathy, honesty and empowerment.
A Funeral should be driven by the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family, and not by the beliefs or ideology of the person conducting the funeral. (The Institute of Civil Funerals).
My aim is to listen carefully and provide you with a meaningful and personal service specifically tailored to reflect the person and to create a ceremony that will enable you and your family to feel as stress free as possible at such a difficult time.
